Premier leaders Oak Apple were not in action, which meant Callow End and Perrywood, who sit second and third respectively, had the chance to close the surprising gap above them. Both done the business, with Callow End beating Fernhill Heath Athletic 3-1 and Perrywood beating Northside 4-2. St Johns recent dip in form continued as travelling Clifton Rovers put three past them without reply to take all the points.
Pillar remain top of division one despite being held 1-1 away to bottom side Colwall St James. FC Malvern got back on track and continued their march towards the top with a narrow 4-3 win away to lowly Lower Teme and Martley. A Jack Shem double helped Malvern, but a double for Matthew Gardner was not enough for Martley. Eaton recorded back to back league victories with a two nil away win over PT Eagles. Jack Courtney and Paulo Anacleto first half strikes were enough to take all 3 points. A Matthew Bannister hat-trick and a strike from Mark Holbrow wasn’t enough to beat FC Korono in what was a goal fest 4-4 draw. The rangers also couldn’t be separated as Drakes Broughton Rangers and Malvern Rangers played out a 1-1 draw. Sam Marshall on target for drakes and Harry Wickett for Vale.
Division 2 saw Droitwich Spa Eagles handing out the thrashing this week as they beat Worcester Saints 9-1. Hotshots Adam Ellis and Conor Shepard both scored hat-tricks with Will Clutterbuck, Stuart Hatfield and Ethan King also on the scoresheet for the eagles. Goals from Kieran Hawkes, Joe Morrall and Joe Morrall were the difference as Kempsey beat visitors Perdiswell Colts 3-1. A 91st minute stinger from Mark Walker ensured that Hornets took something from their encounter with GDL Athletic that finished one each.
New Dales put Lower Teme & Martley Reserves to the sword 5-1 to maintain the pace as leaders of division 3. Rik Halion bagged a brace and there were also goals for Nathan Bullock, Declan Andrews and new signing Daniel Parsons. Powick kept the pressure on the leaders with a Leon Roberts double and a goal from Joseph Spencer helping seal a 3-0 win over Malvern Radar.
You expect to win when you bag four away from home, but that wasn’t the case for Grosvenor Sports FC who lost 6-4 to hosts Worcester Saints. Jordan Roan netted all four of the Grosvenor goals. Depleted for a second week, AFC Brickfields battled hard, but it wasn’t to be as visitors Droitwich Spa Eagles Res ran out 4-3 winners. David Lambert (2) and Aaron Marston scored Brickfields goals and Gav Wood (2), Andy Harvey and Simon Jones netted for Eagles. Rock-bottom and pointless Eaton Reserves were full of optimism following a couple of new signings, but it wasn’t their day as fellow strugglers Perrywood Reserves took all 3 points with a 2-0 victory.
