WORCESTER LEAGUE ROUND UP - 29 APRIL

Express Falcons are the new holders of the McDonald’s Worcester & District Football League Bernard Finnegan Cup. In the final at Malvern Town, goals from Mark Holbrow and Josh Beckett gave them a 2-0 win against a youthful Perdiswell Colts, playing in their first season in the league. 

Clifton Rovers are the division one champions. They clinched the title with a 5-2 win at Arrow, Will Griffith scoring twice. Meanwhile The Bell beat Worcester Athletic 4-1, Greg Lord notching a double. 

If Colwall Wanderers avoid an eighteen goal deficit in their final match against Grosvenor Sports, they will be crowned division 4 champions. Nearest challengers Worcester Saints are the likely runners-up after crushing New Inn Sports (Malvern) 8-2, Ollie Kendall, Luke Morris and Dylan Hart all bagging a brace. Elsewhere Shane Shallcross hit a hat-trick for Sebright Arms who beat Drakes Broughton Rangers Reserves 6-4 and Josh Farnsworth bagged two for Grosvenor, 3-1 winners over Malvern Radar Youth. 

Callow End moved a step nearer to retaining their Premier division crown, Reece Bufton, Joel Hobbs, Ash Millard and Brad Birch on target as they defeated The Gloster Arms 4-0. There was a brace each for Ryan Pugh in Upton Snodsbury’s 2-1 success at Drakes Broughton Rangers and Luke Gaffney as Hallow won 6-3 against Northside. 

Seven points from their last six games will confirm FC Korono as division 2 champions. They beat Kempsey Colts United 4-0 with goals from Lukas Eilberg, Rob Cox, Ed Ruscoe and Ed Jukes. Ashley Dawson cracked a treble and Matt Mclatchy a double as Worcester City Wanderers won a nine goal thriller 5-4 at Star & Garter. Andy Jones netted twice for the Star. Andy Wright also bagged two in Northwick Saints 5-2 victory at Warndon Villages. Goals from John Whittall and Andy Woodward gave Hornets a 2-0 home win against Malvern Vale. 

AFC Mazak are heading for a last day of the season division 3 title showdown with Express Falcons. A single strike from George Martin gave them victory at Freemasons Arms. Lower Teme & Martley shared eight goals with Powick, Callum Morris scoring twice for Martley, Nick Jones doing likewise for Powick.
