First of all, we would like to send our best wishes to two players who suffered serious injuries in the match between Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves and Grosvenor Sports this morning. Grosvenor’s Helio Meneses suffered a broken fibula and Eagles Kevin Browne a broken collar bone. We wish both players a speedy recovery and hope they are back in action as soon as possible.

Callow End are through to the final of the WFA Sunday Premier Cup and extended their unbeaten record to exactly twelve months, with a narrow 3-2 win at old rivals Perrywood. The game looked over at half-time when Callow End led 3-0 through Nick Macpherson (2) and Brad Birch. It could have been 4-0 just after the interval when Perrywood goalkeeper Adam Went appeared to bring down Birch as he rounded him in the 18 yard box. However, referee Sheppard waived aside penalty appeals and to add insult to injury, cautioned Birch for simulation. This sparked a Perrywood recovery with goals from the lively James Baldwin and John Pykett bringing the score back to 3-2. However Callow End nervously hung on to reach their first Premier cup final since 2010 when they lost to AFC Heenans. Their opponents in the final will be Harriers Trust who ended hopes of an all Worcester League final with a 9-0 drubbing of Drakes Broughton Rangers.

In the McDonald’s Worcester & District Football League Premier Division, goals from Jon Dovey and Charlie Tomlinson gave Northside a 2-0 victory at New Inn Athletic.

The race for the division one title is hotting up with several teams in contention. With games in hand, Clifton Rovers are probably favourites, Mike Fellows scoring twice as they beat Hallow Village 5-1. Elsewhere Tom Baker cracked a hat-trick in St Johns 4-2 home win over The Bell. Sam Carey and Mike Cox both bagged a brace as Fernhill Heath Athletic won 4-0 against Claines. Mac Austin notched a double in Worcester Athletic’s 5-2 success at Arrow.

FC Korono have a four point lead at the top of division 2, Tom Groves netting twice in their latest win, 3-0 against Worcester City Wanderers. Malvern Vale beat Northwick Saints 3-0 with strikes from Sean Smith, Chris Packer and Steve Nolan. Colwall St James won 3-1 at Pershore Town Eagles, Oliver Smith, Ahmed Nasser and Ben Ledbury all on the score sheet. Goals from Craig Johnson, Jake Wilkinson and Andy Woodward gave Hornets a 3-2 victory over Star & Garter.

AFC Mazak are making a strong challenge for the division 3 crown, Jack Martin, George Corbett and Paris Blake on target as they beat Perdiswell Colts 3-0. Meanwhile Freemasons Arms had a narrow 3-2 win against GDL Athletic with goals from Glen Mandry, Tom Birchley and Russ Carlin. Powick lifted themselves off the bottom with a 3-1 success at Brewers Saints, who replace them at the foot of the table. Mark Davies, Jack Telford and Tom Wells were the Powick scorers. Adam Ellis scored twice as Droitwich Spa Eagles won 3-0 at Lower Teme & Martley.

In division 4, Darren Palmer found the net four times for Grosvenor Sports, who won 5-3 in their injury hit match at Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves. Jake Monk hit a hat-trick for Eaton Reserves who beat Lower Teme & Martley Reserves 5-3. Sebright Arms were involved in another nine goal thriller, their third 5-4 win in their last six games, this time against New Inn Sports (Malvern). Idris Agboola fired a treble for New Inn, Glen Sitch a double for Sebright. Goals from Mark Underhill and Dylan Hart gave Worcester Saints a 2-1 win at Malvern Radar Youth.
